Typically a person may request this document if an individual is approaching the marriage with 1) significantly more assets; 2) significantly more debt; or 3) the need to outline asset distribution to children from a prior relationship. By signing a Pre Nuptial Agreement, both people agree that assets acquired prior to the marriage remain the sole property of that individual upon entering the union.
Post Nuptial (Post Marital) Agreements
A Post Nuptial Agreement is a document signed after marriage that primarily address topics related to money or property. Post Nuptial Agreements differ from Pre Nuptial Agreements in that they are signed after marriage.
